Beta/SAE Philanthropy Volleyball Tournament:
Beta Theta Pi, along with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, co-host a sand volleyball tournament for a philanthropic cause. This occurs in the spring semester. It is an excellent way for the entire USD campus to rally behind a cause and to have fun in the process.
Beta/A Phi Teeter Totter Event:
Beta Theta Pi teams up annually with the women of Alpha Phi to sponsor a teeter totter fundraiser in the Muenster University Center. The event features an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and university guests to contribute to a selected charity while re-living their childhoods on a teeter totter with members of Alpha Phi and Beta Theta Pi.
Greek Week:
A week designated to the fraternities and sororities on campus. This week comprises of various competitions such as a rock wall climb, Jello wrestling and Greek God and Goddess. Each one of these activities has a point value, and the more a house does, the more points they get. Beta Theta Pi took second place last year.
Highway Clean-Up:
Once a semester, the men of Beta Theta Pi clean the ditches of their adopted mile of highway. After the clean-up they have a barbeque and play sports in the backyard.
Parent Weekend:
All the parents of the men of Beta Theta Pi are invited to tour the house, chat with other parents and to experience a weekend of Beta Theta Pi.
D-Day All Beta Dinner:
A formal gathering of Betas and Beta guests at the Winery in Vermillion. This occurs during D-Days. It’s a great way for Betas from all eras to catch up, network and share the great times they all had as Betas and also to applaud the accomplishments of the active chapter.
The Strollers Show:
A weekend event where two fraternities are paired with one sorority to put on a variety show. The teams sing, dance and act on stage
at Slagle Auditorium in front of the entire USD campus.
Head-Start Program:
A program where Betas volunteer their time to visit preschools and have a good time with children.
Spring Formal:
This is a destination weekend celebration for Beta Brothers and their dates.
Beta Beans:
Fall formal that serves as the backdrop for celebrating the holidays and the announcement of the new Chapter President.
Athletic Involvement:
Intramural sports rank high in competitive play and sportsmanship for our chapter with over 78% of our members participating in events such as football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and softball just to name a few. Intramural costs are included in membership dues.
